Tour to the ancient Bhuddist site of Borobodur..and Hindu site - Prambanan

Wasnt sure of the wisdom of paying money to drag myself out of bed at 4.30am, but when i got to the site, to see the sun rise over it, was worth it.

Java was ruled by a Buddhist kingdom, followed by a Hindhu kingdom before it became an Islamic republic. Many balinese are still hindhu and bhuddhist..

Borobodur is now a Unesco World Heritage site, thankfully, which guarantees its upkeep and maintenance..

Next we went to the, Prambanan, the Hindhu site. Unfortunately, java is hit by numerous earthquakes as it has over 100 active volcanoes over its archipeligo, and this site had 118 temples which were reduced to just 18 due to an earthquake in 1000AD. Real shame, very beautiful..
