...near the harbour there were some interesting markets. Here they're drying small fish :
..here they're selling sea shells & corals, hundreds of them, cant be good for the sea !
..i never buy this kind of stuff for this reason...
..Next we went to the Glodok area close to the China Town area. At this stall they were selling snake blood. One side of the glass tank held cobras, the other banded kraits. They are both highly poisonous, but amazingly the cobra didnt strike the handler. He said it was because he reared them..but i kept my distance as ive known cobras to kill people in sri lanka with a single bite...!!

Unfortunately for the snakes, they are killed when they take the blood but the meat is sold and eaten too...
Next we went to china town ..
..which also had some interesting street food ..poor frogs:
..and to a chinese temple..where the local chinese were busy making wishes for the new year..
...and lighting these huge candles ...
