Met one of my best friends Mark and his wife Szelin (who's from KL). Surprisingly, she wanted to go shopping...(!).. so we sent her off while we enjoyed a beer and a chat together. Was so, so good to catch up....haven't seen any of my friends from the UK for over 2 months now..
In the evening, after dinner at szelin's parents, we went to the a bar area called 'Cangkat Bukit Bintang'. Lots of nice bars and resto's here...and free entry, a lot better than the beach club..
...after this we went for a 'Ramlee burger' - another institution among younger back packers here - this is a chicken or beef pattie, wrapped in a egg fried on a hotplate with about 5 types of spicy sauce, and some coleslaw type stuff on it... REALLY unhealthy, but REAALY, REALLY tasty ! I know that a junk food connoisseur such as my friend Bruce Hay would have scored it quite highly...[Bruce is the only guy i know, who has gone straight out after a 3 course agency dinner, and scoffed a further 2 burger king quarter pounders.... :) ]
