When im alone in a new city, i usually try to find bars with live music, where you can just enjoy listening to the music and dont actually need to talk to anyone. There are quite a few places which play live music in KL and Kareoke bars are also very popular, (the locals seem to love singing western songs & take it much more seriously than us westeners do...Philipinos are also similar ive heard...).
So, i went to the centre to a place called the 'Beach club' - a bit of an institution here. This place is expensive for Malaysian standards, £9 to get in and then £7 a draught beer afterwards !!!! Wow ! Therefore, its almost entirely full of tourists (with very few locals, which is not ideal...) and a smattering of bar girls, who always turn up where there are tourists... however, the live band was good and there are lots of screens showing sports...i watched the Japan/Australia footy game ..Phil, you would have been proud :) ....i'll be a cultured man when i return to the UK...
Unfortunately, when i woke up on Saturday morning, i found i had blown about 3 days budget there :(
