Its next door to the 'Happy Banana' where ive hung out before, but as its high season, they'd put up their rates to 50 quid a night there! Outrageous, so i did what Brucey Hay would do and sniffed out a cheaper room...
This place was 17 quid per night and right next to the 'Lucky Tuna' where there are fish bbqs most evenings (Aubrey, you might remember this one)....

I had an absolutely fabulous time there and really didnt want to leave. They've really developed the beach (which is a little sad, as i remember it when it was little known and unspoilt), but there are lots of restos and bars now which is great if you're a beach bum/ tourist, and brings money in for the local economy. The staff at this place were really cool, fantastic guys ...who had a 'we stop serving when the last person leaves ' policy...
..shared a few beers with a guy from Dublin called Liam who had travelled all over Indonesia (among other countries), which is where im going next. Got lots of good tips and info from him.. [Liam, if you read this, i hope you enjoy the rest of your trip around Sri Lanka..]
