I'd grown a bit lazy to leave Colombo, going to the gym, meeting my cousins for lunch or dinner and generally lazing about. But the time came when i had to leave and head for India. I had a 2 week Microsoft IT course organised in the Hill Station of Shimla in October, to ease me back into work mode and had to leave enough time to see the state of Rajasthan, beforehand.
I flew into New Delhi Airport in the northern state of Haryana, in the dead of the night. The flight was a fairly un-interesting one. I sat next to two Indian guys who were from Delhi. They were very friendly, however when the conversation dried up, the guy next to me proceeded to pick his nose with vigour and then wipe it on his jeans, so much so that when we said our fairwells, i just grinned at them, instead of offering my hand to shake...
The guy sitting behind was a young guy who was blind drunk and trying (unsuccessfully) to chat up a European girl, who clearly wasn't impressed. He made it worse by playing loud bangra music on his mobile and preventing her from sleeping. Eventually, she had enough, told him he smelt of booze and made him sit on the opposite aisle :)
I was already intrigued by what to expect from India ... :)
