If you're hopping through Indonesia like i did, you have to be aware there are entry and exit taxes of around GBP 30..before you do anything...
The carrier I chose was Air Asia, cheap and cheerful, good looking hostesses & a good, safe fleet of airbuses. Flights between Colombo, KL, Bali and Singapore varied bewteen GBP 80 - 150, with 25kg of luggage, not too bad.
On budget carriers, you can't choose the seats unless you pay extra, so i always ended up with the middle seat in a row of 3. On the way to Singapore, I lucked out with the guy on my left, a rather plump male chinese student engrossed in a game on his iPhone, but lucked in when a fairly attractive female chinese student studying architecture in Singapore sat on my right. I chatted to her for the first half of the flight but we had communication difficulties. She couldn't get my accent and i couldn't understand everything she said. After chatting to her, i fell asleep... with my mouth wide open..... im hoping she didnt see that....
Arrived at Changi airport, Singapore at 20:00ish. Lovely, efficiently run airport. Ive always found staff friendly & courteous here and there have always been minimal queues at immigration...
Made my way to my cousin's condo. He's had a new addition to his family who's just 6 months...very cute..

I stayed with my cus 3 nights. He got me into his gym on Orchard road for free on the second day and we worked out together. The gym was half the price of the one I used in London, but twice as big and a lot better equipped. He goes with a personal trainer 4 times a week & i must say he's very strong now..On the third day i did a spot of shopping. I always think of Singapore as the state where hot pants came into fashion and fortunately never went out of fashion... :) It makes shopping very interesting, even for a guy...
After shopping, I joined his wife and kids in the evening. The kids were quite exited to get out of the flat. We took them to a Suisse resto - Marche- which had good food a play area..
...they were excited to be out, honestly :)....

On the second evening, i went out with my cousin and friends on a boys night. Unfortunately bars in Singapore are not cheap and i blew around 2 days budget !!!! Not a good start for my wallet, but as usual when i go there, i had a great time..
I would have stayed longer with my cus & family as they always look after me really well & i love hanging out with them, but i had already booked a ticket to thailand for the Thai New Year on the 14th April...
