Buddhist temple

I didn't do anything the first night apart from having a beer at the guest house. I zonked out by about 9pm.... i think all the flying, the gym and boozing in Singapore had finally caught up with me...

Another ritual the thais have for the new year is that they go to the buddhist temples and donate food to the monks and clean the monks' hands with water.
So the next day, i made my way to a temple. The festivals were still in full swing :




Thai temples are really quite beautiful..


Inside the temple, people prayed and donated small amounts of money....



Outside, the temple staff provided small pots of water to pour over a Buddha statue. This is not a ritual we have in Sri Lanka but i participated anyway...hoping it would bring me some luck for this new year....
