I met a Swedish guy called Roger at the first guest house I stayed in. He was a journalist and also travelling on his own for a short holiday, so we agreed to go out on the town that friday night. For a population of only 10 million, its amazing how many swedish people ive met in asia... He liked live music as do i, so we tried a bar called 'Brown Sugar' in the Silom area of Bangkok. In many countries in Asia, the 5 star hotels hire the best live music bands, and jazz bands which play at these hotels in Bangkok usually jam at this bar during their stay. We saw a really good band but it was pure jazz. I prefer blues, so we moved on to another smaller bar near our guest house..i didn't have my camera so i took a few photos using my iPod touch..(btw thank you Cheyne guys and girls for this leaving pressie - it and my camera are probably my most treasured items on my travels...)
This was an americal guy who played solo with a guitar and harmonica...

Not sure which country this chubby guy came from but he was amazingly talented...

We then hit another bar or two..

...ate a second dinner at an Italian and then crawled back at 5 in the morning..
...Unfortunately, the next day, when i calculated what i'd spent that night, i'd blown about 3 days budget :(
Goddamit !! Never mind i thought, i'll have to take a queue from the Europrean banks and write it off as a bad debt.... ;0)
